Team roles — who can do what

Editors, admins and the site owner; inviting people and the invite link's rules.

A site is rarely a one-person job. The Team tab lets you invite people and give each the right amount of control.

The three roles

Editors can change every word and picture: pages, sections, design, blog posts, collection entries, media, product drafts, and newsletter drafts. They can see form submissions, analytics and orders, and use the AI tools. What they can't do is put things in front of visitors or change wiring: no publishing the site, no sending campaigns, no domains.

Admins can do all of that plus the consequential parts: publish and unpublish the site, activate products, change order statuses, send and schedule newsletters, manage custom domains and the sending domain, connect Stripe and analytics tags, edit custom code, manage the team, and download the static export.

The site owner is the person who created the site — an admin who can also delete the site.

One nuance worth knowing: blog posts and collection entries an editor publishes are live immediately — they don't wait for a site publish.

Inviting someone

Enter their email in the Team tab and pick a role. The invite is a single-use link that expires in 7 days; depending on your platform's email setup it's mailed automatically or shown for you to copy and send. Re-inviting the same address replaces the old link, and pending invites can be revoked.

The person opens the link, creates an account (or signs in), and lands in the site. New accounts start with a small credit bonus so they can try the AI tools.

Rule of thumb: start people as editors. Hand out admin when someone genuinely needs to publish, send, or manage domains — everything else an editor can already do safely.
